ProCera® cheese wax is a protective, unique and thoroughly tested cheese wax with many, but also different protective qualities. The cheese wax protects the cheese through the maturation process, and is the one that the end user encounters in the refrigerator in different colours and formulations.

ProCera® cheese wax is made both with the familiar traditional ingredients, or as an option made from natural ingredients as found in ProCera® Natural.

Patented cheese wax variant offers completely new options

ProCera® Natural is a brand new patented cheese wax which is 100% based on natural ingredients.

The fact that this new recipe is based on natural ingredients offers a completely new way to integrate cheese wax when working towards greater sustainability. ProCera® Natural should be used as a way to achieve greater sustainability in cheese production, which also makes it possible to highlight the benefits of natural packaging towards consumers.

ProCera® Natural is the end result of a six-year long development project to come up with a new and sustainable way to mature and package cheeses. The project was completed with support from European Eurostars, Innovation Fund Denmark’s InnoBooster programme and the Food Products Cluster of the business centre of Southern Jutland (in Danish: Erhvervshus Sydjylland).

ProCera® Cheese Wax is available in various colors, the most common of which are

Seven analysis methods provide safe data when choosing a cheese wax

The characteristics of a cheese wax are often assessed by experienced dairy experts on a somewhat subjective basis.  It is now, however, possible to support the findings of experts’ senses with analysis from seven different aspects, which allows you to be certain that your chosen cheese wax is appropriate for the production, storage, handling and transportation of your cheeses.

The methods of analysis used involve:

  • ASTM standard analysis methodologies
  • Methodologies developed according to advice provided by the Danish Technological Institute
  • Methodologies developed in-house at Procudan

Each analysis allows you to reach data-driven decisions when evaluating characteristics or allows you to use the findings to fine tune your existing cheese wax solution.

All testing and analysis are carried out at our own labs.
