Treacle
Is the viscous brown substance that remains after sugar is extracted from sugar beet or sugar cane. The flavour varies according to the origin of the product and the consistency is syrupy.
Treacle contains approximately 60% sugar and is supplied as a liquid.
Treacle (molasses) can be used in the production of rum, but also in yeast for baked goods. In addition, molasses is used in animal feed or as a flavouring in brown sugar.
