Locust bean gum (LBG) E 410

E 410, also known as LBG, is a carbohydrate obtained from the seeds of the carob tree. The seeds of the fruit are ground to a flour which, when mixed with water, readily swells to form a sticky substance.

LBG is used as a flavourless stabiliser and thickening agent in such foods as soups, sauces, dairy products, and gluten free baked goods.

Can be delivered both as conventional and organic.
