The consumer’s sweet treat
Consumers have high expectations of confectionary products. They want culinary works of art featuring unique ingredients and craftsmanship and accompanied by a good story. But not always. There is still a demand for the more well-known sweets, too.
Procudan are experts in ingredients and packaging for confectionary. We work closely with our customers to find the ideal solution that produces the unique quality products consumers demand.
The good taste is familiar and loved by many. One bite often leads to more. When the taste is well-balanced, perhaps even has a surprising twist, the sweet treat is something most consumers don’t want to live without.
There are endless possibilities for new varieties, and sweet does not necessarily mean sugar. The challenge is to create products with a taste, appearance and composition that the consumer finds attractive.
And there are many questions that need answering:
What are the current trends – and what trends are up and coming?
How can recipe and processing costs be simplified?
How can the taste, appearance and texture of the end product be refined?
How can shelf-life, stability and nutritional content be improved?
- Which alternatives can replace key ingredients?
- How can potential health benefits be exploited and communicated?
- How can packaging provide optimum protection of the end product?
- How can packaging design be made attractive to and adapted to the consumer?
Procudan provides guidance on processes, ingredients composition and the right packaging.
We know that the best way to achieve the quality products consumers want is through co-creation between Procudan and our customers.

‘To-go’ packaging created for the consumer
Well-considered packaging protects the end product and makes it easy to have on-the-go. Confectionary coatings, which easily melt or rub off, are always taken into consideration when designing the packaging, which should also make the product stand out on shop shelves. The right packaging can create a unique look that completes the end product and convinces the consumer in the purchasing moment – perhaps with the help of greener packaging.
Packaging plays a vital role in production and warehouse handling, enabling the streamlining of production processes. Processes can be improved with well-considered packaging, for instance by scaling up in packaging size so forklifts can handle the work efficiently.
The customer’s needs and wishes are always assessed in detail along with the consumer’s experience. We are experts in identifying the right packaging solutions, and we work closely with our customers to create the unique end products that consumers demand.

Sweet without sugar
The good taste does not always have to come from sugar. Consumers want alternatives. For instance, sugar can be replaced with sweeteners. Or dried fruit can add sweetness to a plant-based diet, perhaps combined with nuts to enhance taste and consistency.
We work closely with our customers to identify the right combination of ingredients to create sweet and flavourful reduced-sugar or sugar-free products.
