Vanilla prices continues skyrocketing

In the last couple of years it seems that demand exceeds supply and as a consequence market prices for vanilla beans are rising steadily.

The 2015 vanilla bean crop was not as good as the highly favorable 2014 bean crop. The flowering started late, the weather conditions throughout the year were not ideal and the harvest dates happened to be quite early. We therefore see a crop that is below average in terms of quality as well as quantity.

Procudan and our partners expect prices to climb even higher until the second half of 2016 and then – depending on supply and speculation in the 2016 bean crop – either climb to a new high price or drop rapidly.
