Secure supply in a troubled market
Our strong supply chain is your security
Security of supply and rising prices have created challenges for everyone who trades on the global market. This applies not only in relation to transport and energy, but also when purchasing goods and raw materials. The Corona pandemic locks down communities and ports around the world. A container ship that has run to ground prevents navigation through the Suez Canal. Russia's invasion of Ukraine blocks the export of important raw materials and energy. These are three significant events that, since 2020, have caused instability in global markets and disrupted the global balance between supply and demand, for products from microchips to grains and packaging.
Hand in hand with the turmoil in world markets, we are seeing a growing and increased awareness of our global dependencies. Many companies are therefore working hard to strengthen their supply chains to ensure continued production and sales.
Procudan’s supply chain is robust because:
we work together with multiple partners
we have access to reliable information about current movements in the markets
we transform our insights into proactive actions in response to known as well as potential threats
Our approach that value is achieved when working together is based on eight core elements where risk management is a very central element of our daily work.
Three robust Procudan elements for packaging
1. Proximity ensures flexibility
Where possible, we primarily collaborate with European manufacturers due to the greater security of supply of goods and raw materials they are able to offer
Geographical proximity is a considerable advantage in many situations, and we solve challenges every day in order to ensure a stable supply flow
European manufacturers mean shorter distances from producer to customer and provide greater partnership flexibility
2. All partners are carefully selected
We have partnered with the majority of our packaging manufacturers for a very long time, which is a great strength and ensures stability. Every single partner is a specialist in their specific field and is selected on the basis of:
All manufacturers give us regular updates about security of supply, order capacity and price level, so that we can jointly provide the best service.
3. Security in several links back in the chain
We select the right manufacturer for the task on the basis of what you want and what you need. Where possible, we like to collaborate with several manufacturers during the start-up phase to give you more qualified choices based on both quality and security. We always aim to create customised packaging solutions that consider needs, quality and economy.
In the same way as we have long-term working relationships with our partners, our partners also have long-term relationships with their own raw material suppliers. This was also an important factor in why we chose to work with them in the first place. These collaborations further back in the supply chain have of course described their procurement processes as part of their quality management. This means that documentation exists to demonstrate that our partners have concluded long-term contracts for the supply of raw materials and that they have systems in place to handle the safe supply of raw materials.
Navigating unstable times by working together
During uncertain times, our strategy of close cooperation with manufacturers and maintaining long working relationships has turned out to be worth its weight in gold. We always insist that we aim for interaction and cooperation. We believe in a collaboration where we are a good match for each other and insist on thinking of solutions before products and value before price. We have adopted this approach because we know that it generates the best and most valuable solutions.
